Summary
Nottingham Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and the overall well-being of students. This role involves developing engaging curriculum and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages students to participate in various physical activities and sports.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum for students at various grade levels.
  • Plan and conduct engaging and age-appropriate physical activities, sports, and fitness programs.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and progress in physical education and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages all students to participate and develop their physical skills.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and events.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote overall student health.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment during physical activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and program updates.
  • Stay current with educational trends in physical education and implement best practices in teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Valid PA teaching certification in Physical Education.
  • Experience teaching physical education at the elementary or secondary level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
  • Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy living among students.
