Theoria Technical College is seeking a passionate and student-centered Health Sciences Professor to teach HLTH-101 within our Associate of Science degree programs.
This course supports general education competencies and prepares students primarily future early childhood professionals with foundational knowledge in personal health, community wellness, prevention, and lifelong health literacy.

Position Summary
The Health Sciences Professor will:
- Deliver HLTH-101 in online and/or hybrid modalities
- Align instruction with approved course Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
- Promote critical thinking, health literacy, and civic awareness
- Use data-informed instructional practices
- Support equitable student achievement
This is an adjunct faculty position with potential for ongoing course assignments based on performance and enrollment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach HLTH-101 in accordance with the approved syllabus meeting accreditation
- Facilitate engaging instruction through lectures, discussions, case studies, and applied assignments
- Assess student learning using approved rubrics and outcome-based evaluation tools
- Maintain regular and substantive interaction in online courses
- Participate in quarterly faculty meetings and assessment review cycles
- Submit grades and documentation in accordance with academic calendar deadlines
- Support institutional assessment efforts, including SLO reporting
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Science, Community Health, Nursing, Health Education, or a closely related field
- OR
- Master’s degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate semester units in health-related coursework
- Experience teaching at the postsecondary level
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse adult learners
- Familiarity with online learning platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in hybrid or fully online formats
- Experience integrating public health equity, cultural responsiveness, or community health models
- Experience working with early childhood or education students
- Familiarity with accreditation-aligned assessment practices

- Ability to connect health topics to real-world workforce applications
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and equitable outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using outcome-based assessment methods
Work Environment
- Courses may be delivered synchronously or via Adobe Connect or asynchronously through the LMS
- Class sizes typically range from 25–50 students
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate working professionals
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on enrollment and instructional experience.
