Health Safety Environment Engineer

Experience Required: 3–5 Years

Certification: NEBOSH / IOSH (Mandatory)

Registration: SARS Registered with Trakhees (Mandatory)

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to join our construction team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across the project. The Safety Officer will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, enforcing site safety practices, and maintaining compliance with Trakhees and UAE regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities

* Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures in line with UAE labor law and Trakhees regulations.

* Prepare, review, and maintain all HSE documentation including method statements, risk assessments, incident reports, inspection reports, and safety records.

* Conduct site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with statutory and project requirements.

* Develop and implement risk assessments and hazard identification for construction activities.

* Review and verify lifting plans, permits to work, and other high-risk activity procedures.

* Facilitate and coordinate toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training sessions for workers and subcontractors.

* Monitor and control site activities to ensure safe practices are followed during construction works.

* Ensure proper reporting, investigation, and follow-up of accidents, incidents, and near misses.

* Liaise with Trakhees, consultants, and client representatives regarding safety compliance and inspections.

* Assist in emergency preparedness and conduct drills and safety awareness campaigns.

* Provide support to the project team in implementing corrective and preventive actions

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related discipline.

* NEBOSH IGC / IOSH certification (mandatory).

* SARS registered with Trakhees (mandatory).

* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in building construction projects within the UAE.

* Strong knowledge of Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, and UAE safety regulations.

* Proficient in safety documentation, reporting, and compliance audits.

* Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide multicultural site teams.

* Ability to work under pressure and promote a positive safety culture.
