Job Summary
The Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all company projects and office operations. This role involves monitoring work practices, conducting inspections, and supporting management in implementing safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the company’s health and safety policies in line with local regulations and project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for staff and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, near misses, and prepare related reports.
- Support project teams in developing safe work methods and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to emergency response procedures.
- Liaise with management, engineers, and external authorities to address safety concerns.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among employees and subcontractors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or consultancy projects.
- Strong knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
