The Hartford Area Career and Technology Center (HACTC) seeks an innovative, creative, and collaborative person to instruct students in Health Sciences. The instructor will teach LNA and Phlebotomy.

The Hartford Area Career and Technology Center is a vibrant school that serves sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Upper Valley Region of Vermont and New Hampshire. The mission statement of the HACTC is “Respect, Engage, Learn, Work, Serve, and Grow.” Students at the HACTC are engaged in the program in which they are studying, and there is a strong culture of respect at the school.

Summary: The instructor will teach Health Sciences to high school juniors and seniors.

Job Duties:

  • Teaches introductory and advanced Health Sciences, with a focus on skills that are relevant in today’s workplace.
  • Develops curriculum based on the proficiencies outlined in the Vermont CTE proficiency documents. Topics include safety and equipment, natural resources management, environmental conservation, business management, communication, leadership and teamwork, ethics and legal responsibilities, and career development.
  • Forms positive relationships with students and manages a classroom of students.
  • Researches curriculum options and implements curriculum.
  • Stays up to date with industry trends.
  • Facilitates a Program Advisory Board of industry experts who give advice about and direction for the program.
  • Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting.
  • Communicates students’ progress to guardians.
  • Participates fully in staff meetings and professional development.

This position begins in August 2025.

Pay: $44,882.00 - $94,823.00 per year
