Health Services Director (Director of Nursing)

Guardian Angel Homes in Post Falls, Idaho is an award-winning assisted living and memory care community. The ideal candidate for this full-time RN Health Services Director position is experienced in all aspects of resident care in a long-term care setting and is passionate about resident care, leadership, and clinical excellence. This position is an integral part of the leadership team, reports to the Executive Director, and is assisted and supported by experienced nursing staff. Job responsibilities are diverse and cover administrative & HR functions, clinical services, and operations duties.

Responsibilities Overview:

• Case management for ~30 residents
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of nursing department
• Perform in-person assessments of potential and current residents and develop personalized care plans
• Assist with hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining nursing and care staff
• Assist with training and certification of nursing and caregiving staff (including delegation as appropriate)
• Provide education and accountability for GAH policies, procedures, practices, and standards
• Coordinate projects, resident care, special events, and other job-related duties with other site departments
• Participate in regulatory surveys & inspections
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident Protected Health Information and sensitive staff information
• Routinely available for after hours and weekend on-call nursing needs (paid additional)
• Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• In-person, indoors in well-lit and ventilated spaces, including your own large office
• Work time is divided between office/computer work (charting, provider calls, etc) and hands-on resident care and teaching

Requirements:

• Current RN license in good standing
• Must have 3+ years nursing experience with at least 1 year in geriatric care
• Must be proficient in computer use
• Must be in good physical health (able to intermittently and continuously sit, stand, walk, bend, rotate, and conduct other physical movements inherent to hands-on nursing and able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds) and demonstrate emotional stability
• Must possess the ability and willingness to deal tactfully and harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and others
