Healthcare Administrative Coordinator / Insurance & Billing Specialist (Home Care Agency)

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Administrative Coordinator with experience in insurance, billing, and state-funded programs (JACC & DDD preferred) to support and strengthen our operations.

In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate billing, seamless insurance processing, and operational efficiency, while also serving as a key liaison between the agency, clients, families, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process insurance verification, authorizations, and claims submission
  • Perform accurate medical billing and coding using EMR/EHR systems
  • Review documentation for compliance with CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding standards
  • Coordinate with providers to obtain required documentation for billing and reimbursement
  • Handle claim follow-ups, denials, and medical collections in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain organized, compliant records of billing activity and patient documentation
  • Serve as a liaison between:
  • Clients & families
  • Caregivers
  • Insurance companies & state programs
  • Support onboarding of new clients, including eligibility verification and documentation
  • Assist with operational workflows, scheduling coordination, and administrative processes
  • Stay current with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and coding updates

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Insurance verification & claims processing
  • Medical terminology and documentation standards
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
  • Experience with:
  • CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding
  • Medical billing workflows and compliance standards
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)

  • Experience working with:
  • JACC (Jersey Assistance for Community Caregiving)
  • DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities)
  • Medicaid or long-term care programs
  • Knowledge of home care agency operations
  • Experience with medical collections and denied claims resolution

Position Details
