Job Title: Healthcare Applications - IT Analyst

Position Type: Contract

Duration: 12+ months

Work Location: 1x per week onsite in Hanover, MD

Compensation: $50- $55/ hour

ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE

Medix is currently seeking a Healthcare Applications Analyst for a long-term contact opportunity with one of our Health System clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support healthcare payer applications and backend operational processes across multiple business lines
• Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and resolve technical and workflow-related problems
• Write and execute SQL queries for reporting, data validation, and operational support
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, drive meetings, and identify process improvements
• Assist with cloud-based initiatives and application modernization efforts
• Maintain documentation and support ongoing operational continuity across critical healthcare systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL SKILLS

• 5+ years of experience within a healthcare payer or health insurance environment
• Strong understanding of claims adjudication and healthcare insurance workflows
• Hands-on SQL experience including querying, troubleshooting, and reporting
• Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced environments with minimal oversight
• Excellent communication skills with experience interacting directly with leadership and business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a technical troubleshooting mindset

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with Facets
• Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud environments
• Background supporting healthcare application environments
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, and backend integrations
• Understanding of security remediation, compliance, or NIST-related processes
• Experience bridging technical and business teams in healthcare IT environments
