Healthcare IT Specialist

Role Summary

The Healthcare IT Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, security, and optimization of Al Safa Clinic’s information technology infrastructure. You will manage the Hospital Information System (HIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR), ensuring that doctors and nurses have real-time, secure access to patient data. Your goal is to eliminate technical downtime, protect sensitive health information, and ensure the clinic remains compliant with Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical System Management: Administer the clinic’s HIS/EHR and Practice Management systems, ensuring seamless scheduling, billing, and clinical documentation.
  • Network & Security Operations: Maintain a secure local network (LAN/WLAN) and implement advanced cybersecurity protocols to protect patient data from breaches, in line with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDPPL).
  • Diagnostic Integration: Support the integration and maintenance of digital imaging systems (PACS/DICOM) and laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Local Compliance: Ensure all IT operations meet the standards set by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) and the MoPH, particularly regarding data residency and medical reporting.
  • Insurance System Support: Manage and troubleshoot the integration with local and international insurance providers (e.g., QLM, MetLife, Neuron) for automated claims processing.
  • End-User Training: Conduct training sessions for medical and administrative staff on software updates, data entry best practices, and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Disaster Recovery: Manage daily backups and maintain a robust Disaster Recovery Plan to ensure continuity of care in the event of a system failure.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 4–6 years in IT, with at least 2 years specifically in a healthcare environment (clinic or hospital).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Health Informatics.
  • Technical Certifications:
  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CompTIA Network+.
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert).
  • Knowledge of HL7 or DICOM standards is highly preferred.

Hard Skills:

  • Proficiency in managing Windows Server environments and SQL databases.
  • Experience with medical software such as Insta Health, Cloud9, or similar HIS platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware maintenance for medical printers, scanners, and diagnostic terminals.
  • Language: Professional English fluency is mandatory. Arabic is a significant advantage for coordinating with local vendors and government bodies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR19,000.00 per month
