Compassionate Family Medicine (CFM) has immediate openings for the position of Healthcare Technician (HCT). The primary role of the HCT is to assist the medical staff in taking care of patient's needs during their office visits at a very busy family medical practice.

Bilingual is an additional benefit but is not required. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and reliable transportation. We are currently hiring across all five of our office locations: Green St, Court St, N. Syracuse, Baldwinsville, and Cicero.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Room patients to exam rooms upon their arrival.
• Take the patient's vital signs and other tests, as directed: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, vision/hearing, etc.
• Perform in-office lab tests such as urine tests, throat cultures, wound cultures
• Take the patient's medical history
• Update the patient's electronic medical record (EMR)
• Document in the patient's EMR - create triages, send emails, order labs, update progress notes, etc.
• Update the patient's medication/allergy list with every visit
• Schedule patients follow up appointments, referral exams, etc. as directed
• Responsible for keeping the exam rooms stocked and the medication closet organized.
• Assist the patient with insurance information, and the completion of forms (Jobs Plus, Medicaid Cab, disability forms, etc.)

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree preferred or high school diploma with 1-2 years related experience.
• CPR certified
• Completion of formal training program such as nursing/medical assistant and/or comparable experience in a clinical setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working with electronic medical records systems; experience with Medent EMR is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Bilingual skills a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
