Duties

  • Assist senior technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to support system troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Perform routine field service tasks such as equipment inspections, cleaning, calibrations, and part replacements.
  • Support plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak detection.
  • Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify electrical issues within HVAC equipment.
  • Aid in the repair of appliances and mechanical components using welding, mechanical knowledge, and basic equipment repair techniques.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and ensure all safety protocols are followed during job execution.

Qualifications

  • Prior construction or property maintenance experience is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration principles, and mechanical concepts.
  • Experience with schematics reading and HVAC design fundamentals is a plus.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems and appliance repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn welding and boiler maintenance skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar vehicles preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in field service work with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in HVAC/R (refrigeration) environments.
