Duties
- Assist senior technicians with installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems such as air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to support system troubleshooting and installation.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including filter replacements, system inspections, and equipment cleaning to ensure optimal operation.
- Support field service activities by diagnosing mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and troubleshooting electrical components.
- Help with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and refrigerant line connections.
- Participate in welding and equipment repair activities for HVAC components when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of service work performed, parts used, and system conditions for reporting purposes.
Skills
- Basic understanding of construction principles related to HVAC installation and property maintenance.
- Prior experience as a service technician or in appliance repair is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, air conditioning systems, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems associated with HVAC setups.
- Experience with field service operations including equipment repair and maintenance routines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with welding skills for component fabrication or repair projects.
