Duties

• Support HVAC technicians by preparing work sites, handling tools, and assisting with system installations and repairs
• Learn to interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to aid in system setup and troubleshooting
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and ventilation equipment
• Help perform equipment repairs using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment, ensuring systems operate efficiently
• Support field service operations by transporting materials using <PERSON> drivers’ licenses where applicable
• Aid in plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems and property maintenance projects as directed
• Participate in routine inspections of HVAC/R systems to identify issues with mechanical components or electrical wiring

Skills

• Basic understanding of construction principles and mechanical systems related to HVAC/R equipment
• Experience or interest in service technician roles within the HVAC or refrigeration fields
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for system troubleshooting and installation
• Knowledge of HVAC design concepts, air conditioning systems, and refrigeration processes including ammonia refrigeration
• Familiarity with plumbing components associated with HVAC systems
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, boiler maintenance, welding, or appliance repair preferred
• Strong field service attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to operate testing tools such as ohmmeters safely and effectively
• Mechanical knowledge related to property maintenance or building systems is a plus
• Valid <PERSON> driver’s license for transportation needs during service calls
