Duties

• Install new HVAC systems including ductwork, air conditioning units, ventilation fans, and refrigeration equipment according to schematics and HVAC design plans.
• Perform system troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and diagnostic software to identify issues with electrical wiring, mechanical components, or refrigerant lines.
• Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, motors, valves, thermostats, and electrical wiring while adhering to safety standards.
• Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC diagrams to facilitate accurate installation and repairs.
• Utilize welding skills for ductwork fabrication or repairs when necessary; perform equipment repair tasks including boilers and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety regulations during all field service activities.
• Operate various tools including wrenches, pipe cutters, welding equipment, and ohmmeters to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service records of work performed; communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project status or system issues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction work with a strong background in HVAC installation and service technician roles.
• Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment repair including air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliance repair.
• Mechanical knowledge complemented by field service experience in property maintenance or appliance repair environments.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately; familiarity with HVAC system layout planning.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; welding skills for ductwork fabrication or repairs are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license suitable for operating a <PERSON> driver vehicle; clean driving record preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to refrigerants like ammonia; experience working with HVAC/R systems is highly desirable.
• Additional skills include mechanical aptitude in boiler operation, refrigeration troubleshooting (including Ammonia refrigeration), plumbing expertise, welding capabilities, and general equipment repair knowledge. Pay: $15.00 - $28.00 per hour
