Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Conduct routine inspections of property maintenance systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and welding equipment for mechanical repairs when necessary.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using comprehensive mechanical knowledge; repair or replace faulty components to restore system functionality.
  • Maintain detailed service records, including shift reports, incident logs, and maintenance documentation for all work performed.
  • Support property management teams by providing expert advice on HVAC upgrades or system improvements aligned with building needs.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC/R systems and appliance repair.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and property maintenance.
  • Skilled in reading schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and equipment repair.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices confidently.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean <PERSON> driver record; experience operating HVAC/R equipment in field service environments.
