Job Summary

The Heavy and Light Vehicle Driver is responsible for safely operating vehicles such as trucks, trailers, tankers, or construction vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment and cars and light vehicles. The role involves ensuring timely delivery, maintaining vehicle condition, and complying with all traffic laws and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Transport goods, materials, or equipment to assigned locations on time.
• Inspect vehicles daily to ensure proper functioning (brakes, tires, lights, oil, fuel).
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• Load and unload materials, ensuring cargo is secure and balanced.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, fuel records, and trip documentation.
• Follow all traffic regulations, road safety rules, and company policies.
• Ensure adherence to weight limits, route restrictions, and delivery schedules.
• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition.
• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Heavy and Light Vehicle Driving License.
• Good knowledge of local and regional routes.
• Ability to read and follow maps, GPS, and delivery instructions.
• Physically fit and able to handle long driving hours.
• Strong understanding of road safety and defensive driving techniques.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
