Heavy Civil Estimator Construction

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including infrastructure, roadway, and site development works. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating processes, project management, and contract negotiations to ensure successful project execution from bid to completion. The estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to deliver precise pricing and cost control strategies that align with project goals.

Duties

• Develop detailed construction estimates using Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software tools.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work and required resources.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals including pricing, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
• Conduct negotiations with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining competitive pricing.
• Assist in the review and management of contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with construction management teams to ensure estimates align with project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor costs during project execution to support cost control initiatives and identify potential overruns early.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference and analysis.
• Stay current with industry trends, materials costs, and new estimating technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating within heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and construction estimating software tools.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms from clients and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction site operations, contracts, project management principles, and cost control strategies.
• Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of construction management practices and experience working on large-scale civil projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with pricing strategies specific to heavy civil construction projects.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
