Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is capable of diagnosing issues and performing repairs on various types of heavy equipment, including cranes and other machinery.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including hydraulic systems and brake systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure timely repairs.
• Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are met during all repair processes.
• Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

Skills

• Proficient in hydraulics, brake repair, and general automotive repair techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to transmit knowledge effectively to junior mechanics or apprentices.
• Experience working with cranes and other heavy machinery is preferred.
• Ability to operate various power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment.
