Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic

Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy machinery used in construction, agriculture, and industrial projects. As a skilled mechanic, you will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting project timelines and safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a variety of heavy construction equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using OEM specifications and schematics.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, hydraulic system servicing, and engine diagnostics.
  • Fabricate parts or modify equipment components using welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment for mechanical issues related to transmissions, suspension systems, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
  • Utilize power tools and diagnostic software to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM guidelines.
  • Support heavy lifting operations safely when handling large parts or equipment during repairs or assembly tasks.

Experience

  • Proven mechanic experience working with heavy construction or industrial equipment in a dealership or service environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with OEM schematics interpretation for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
  • Familiarity with fabricating parts using welding and soldering techniques; ability to use power tools effectively.
  • Experience performing tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, suspension work, and HVAC system maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing phases; knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
