Duties
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders, and forklifts using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and schematics.
- Perform routine repairs to hydraulics, engines, cooling systems, and tracks.
- Conduct inspections on heavy machinery to identify issues related to hydraulics, air brakes, alignment, HVAC systems, diesel engines, and other critical components.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes after repairs to verify proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems and perform welding or assembly tasks required during repairs or upgrades.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience working with heavy construction or industrial equipment; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components.
- Familiarity with OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to accurately identify issues.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, HVAC systems on heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
