Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview

BYK Construction is seeking a reliable and skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with welding and fabrication experience. This position is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and fabricating components for a fleet of heavy construction equipment and trucks. Work is primarily shop-based with occasional field repairs.

Responsibilities

- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy construction equipment

- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems

- Perform welding and fabrication repairs on equipment and attachments

- Fabricate brackets, guards, reinforcements, and custom components

- Complete service documentation and maintenance records

- Follow Company safety policies and manufacturer procedures

Experience

- Knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems preferred

- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and fabrication drawings

- Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
