Responsibilities
As a mechanic, you will be required to perform the following duties and professionally undertake the following responsibilities:
General mechanic work, including but not limited to:
- Diagnosing and repairing machines, both electrical and mechanical issues
- Servicing heavy machines
- Prepping heavy machines for rental
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Pressuring washing
- Maintaining a clean shop and work area
- Welding and torching
- Meeting customers, answering questions, and demonstrating equipment
- Identify needed equipment parts or components
- Maintain detailed service records
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience working with heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, telehandlers, forklifts, skid steers, motor graders, and more.
- Familiarity working with heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Case, Komatsu, Kubota, JCB, Volvo, Dynapac, New Holland, and more.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, HVAC components, and electrical systems related to heavy machinery.
- Hands-on experience with OEM parts replacement and understanding of schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A problem-solving, self-starting, and innovative mind.
