Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components of heavy equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment checks to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
• Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery to perform repairs or move equipment safely.
• Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
• Assist with assembly and disassembly of heavy equipment components during repairs or upgrades.
• Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
• Skilled in automotive diagnostics using various testing tools and software.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics is essential.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and effectively.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, hydraulic presses, alignment machines, and other maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to air brake systems, tire service, heavy lifting techniques, and general vehicle maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation for interacting with clients or team members.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
