Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Blu Petroleum is the premier fuel partner in the Chicago land area. We are currently seeking a HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC, reporting to Lead mechanic, working out of MUNDELEIN, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems as needed.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Repair leaks from the product tank.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing DOT preventative maintenance on service trucks.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
• Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• .4+ years Heavy Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Familiar with ABS, Cummins and Paccar motors, automatic transmissions and hydraulics.
• DOT Certified
• Previous PM tech experience with verifiable truck and/or trailer knowledge.
• Team Player.
• Aptitude for mathematics and science.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Excellent IT and diagnostic skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
• Attention to detail/Organized.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
