Maintains vehicles, which may include company's fleet of passenger cars, trucks, heavy equipment, tractor/trailers, etc.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function
Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
Test drives vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation
Must have excellent attendance record and be punctual
Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations; actively engage with employees to reinforce safe behaviors
Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
Other duties as assigned
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Employment Requirements/Qualifications
Two years of related experience preferred
Possession of a valid driver license
Ability to pass a drug screen
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
Excellent mechanical repair skills
Ability to read service and repair manuals
Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, twist, frequently lift up to 50 lbs., stretch, drive/sit
Proficient dexterity with both hands
Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, Saturdays and nights, may be required
Working Conditions
Works in mechanics garage most of the time exposed to noise and odors; however, occasionally the job may be required to be performed outside providing exposure to various weather conditions ranging from extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, ice and wind
Exposure to people in various types of emotional conditions
Exposure to all types of terrain ranging from uneven, slippery, and soft ground
