Pay Range: $38 – $44 per hour

About the Role

LAND Remediation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and construction equipment.

This position supports our environmental remediation and heavy civil construction operations and includes both shop work and field service at active job sites. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, experience working on heavy equipment, and the ability to respond to equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems
• Experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Valid Class A or B CDL
• DOT certification
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE Master Mechanic certification
• Diesel mechanic training from a technical school or community college
• Experience maintaining construction equipment used in excavation or earthwork
• Experience supporting construction or environmental remediation operations

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on a wide range of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, and more
• Analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot problems that may not be readily apparent, and find solutions to challenging repair scenarios
• Ordering parts and maintaining inventory
• Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
• Using computerized tools and equipment
• Consulting computerized tools and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed
• Conducting field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Work Environment

• Work occurs in active construction environments and in the shop
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• This is a travel position
