Heavy Equipment Operator (Trackhoe/Dozer Operator)

LOCATION: Chalmette/New Orleans, LA

Beard Construction Group, LLC (BCG) is an industrial construction firm specializing in all phases of civil construction services. Civil disciplines include earthwork, mass excavation, site preparation, concrete foundations, landfill construction, impoundment closures and other civil related construction services.

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe operation of Heavy Equipment on the job site. Some equipment/job duties you will be asked to execute are, but not limited to operate Dozer, Track hoe, Front-End Loader, Backhoe, Roller, Fork Lifts, and Excavator.

**Working knowledge of the following equipment is preferable: excavators, bulldozer, front-end loader, articulated dump truck, and on-road tri-axle and trailer.

Position Requirements

• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Driving Record.
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Signals directions or warnings to coworkers.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Sets up heavy construction equipment.
• Operates equipment to grade or redistribute earth.
• Operates equipment to move, load, or unload material.
• Installs equipment or attachments on machinery or related structures.
• Performs equipment safety and maintenance checks.
• Repairs and maintains equipment, making emergency adjustments as necessary.
• Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
• Studies instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
• General/Other Responsibilities and Duties- keep records of material and equipment usage and problems encountered.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• A valid TWIC card, OSHA card, and Security Passport are a plus but not mandatory.

Required experience:

• 4+ years of equipment operation experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
