Job Description:

Performs skilled work in the Landfill/Transfer Station Division of the Solid Waste Management Department. Work involves operating heavy equipment in the disposal of solid waste, including pushing, piling, spreading, compacting, or loading waste material. Work includes operation of heavy equipment to move and place earth, maintain slopes, silt basins, and cut grass. Clean and maintain equipment. Operates front-end loaders, dozers, waste compactors, graders, backhoes, excavators, off-road dump trucks, and other pieces of equipment. Perform maintenance and complete daily paperwork. Must have experience in the operation of heavy motorized equipment. Preferred experience with heavy motorized equipment in the landfill and/or transfer station operations. Applicant to provide experience on specific equipment operated.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

2 years of experience and training in heavy motorized equipment operation and maintenance. SC CDL License required within 6 months of employment.

Pay: $19.44 - $20.81 per hour
