Heavy Equipment Operator/ laborer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery, assisting with construction tasks, and ensuring safety and efficiency on job sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction equipment, site safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drilling, tankers, and paving equipment is highly desirable. The position offers opportunities for growth and skill development within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drills, tankers, and paving machinery with precision and safety.
• Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, material hauling, and other construction activities.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
• Support other labor tasks as needed on construction sites to meet project goals.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding equipment needs or operational issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators (including Caterpillar), dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drills, tankers, and paving machines.
• Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy machinery.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory; ability to operate dump trucks or other transport vehicles is a plus.
• Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials or equipment as required.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and teamwork-oriented attitude.
• Prior experience in construction or related fields is highly desirable but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn on the job.
