Overview
We are seeking reliable, safety focused coal fuel handlers/ equipment operators to support continuous operations of a power plant. We accomplish this task with loaders, dozers, excavators, and stationary screening systems. This a year round jobs that takes place outside and indoors. We are building a 4x10 shift schedule (four 10-hours shifts with three days off).
Responsibilities
- Safely load, stockpile, and move coal fuel with loaders, dozers, excavators.
- Operate and maintain stationary screening decks, conveyor lines, and transfer chutes
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to guarantee safe and optimal operation.
- Preform pre and post shift equipment checks
- Assist with housekeeping and general cleanup
- Coordinate with supervisors to execute project plans accurately and efficiently.
- Respond to operational alarms or emergencies regarding fueling the power plant
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders off highway mining trucks
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety procedures and teamwork.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment or similar brands confidently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and drug test
Schedule & Work Environment
- 4 days on / 3 days off (10 hour shifts)
- Day shift
- Combination of outdoor work in all weather conditions and indoor control room/ equipment cab time
- Overtime opportunities during peak demand or plant emergencies
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
