Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our landfill operations team. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, compactors, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, roll-off trucks, skid steers, and other machinery to move and manage waste materials efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance.
- Assist with site cleanup by removing debris, sorting recyclable materials, and maintaining sanitation standards.
- Load waste into trucks or containers using loaders or excavators, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures.
- Support landfill operations by managing the transfer of waste from collection vehicles to designated disposal areas.
- Conduct safety checks regularly and adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during heavy equipment operation.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate daily tasks and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes related to waste management and sanitation practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.
- Excellent understanding of site safety protocols and environmental regulations applicable to landfills.
- Skilled in cleaning tasks related to maintaining a tidy work site and ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Capable of performing routine maintenance checks on machinery and troubleshooting minor issues.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
