Joe the Plumber Plus, Inc. is seeking a Equipment Operator with CDL for our Wallkill, NY location.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator and Laborer with a valid CDL to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating hydrovac trucks and excavator, performing physical labor, and working safely around underground plumbing utilities to support construction and utility projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate hydrovac trucks for daylighting, excavation, and debris removal
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of hydrovac trucks and equipment
• Mobilize hydrovac equipment and properly set up for required excavation
• Safely and efficiently excavate around utilities, pipelines, and structures
• Properly install traffic control signs, cones, and delineators when required
• Install trench shoring or utilize proper excavation methods to ensure worker safety
• Operate additional heavy equipment as needed, including dump trucks, excavators, loaders, and similar machinery
• Assist with general labor tasks on job sites when required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around excavations
• Communicate effectively with crew members and project managers regarding job progress
• Adhere to all job site safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year CDL driving experience (required)
• Hydrovac or vacuum excavation experience strongly preferred
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, loaders, or similar equipment
• Knowledge of excavation, backfill, and compaction processes
• Understanding of underground utility and piping installations is a plus
• Experience with Caterpillar controls or similar equipment preferred

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
• Strong understanding of construction and utility job site operations
• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
