Heavy Equipment Operator/Truck Driver

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team at Utility Construction Company, Inc. (UCC). In this role, you will operate various types of heavy machinery. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the successful execution of our project while maintaining high safety standards. This position is for our current project located at China Lake Naval Base in Ridgecrest, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, digger derricks, line trucks, loaders, fork lifts, vacuum excavators, manlifts and bucket trucks, and other miscellaneous electrical utility construction equipment, with the ability to address issues in a timely and safe manner.
  • Perform digging and material lifting operations for utility installation and maintenance.
  • Transport materials and equipment to and from job site.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute construction plans effectively.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
  • General underground and overhead electrical construction knowledge.
  • Experience in electrical distribution and substation construction.
  • Underground utility locating experience.
  • Trenching and shoring.
  • Willingness to perform general laborer tasks as needed.
