Vermeer Colorado is the authorized distributor for Vermeer equipment in Colorado and Wyoming with four branch locations, we provide dedicated sales, rentals, parts and service support for customers in the tree care, landscaping, wood waste, organic recycling, underground construction and mining industries.
Position:
The Service Technician is responsible for high quality and effective repair of Vermeer equipment. The successful candidate must work independent of direct supervision, provide dealer level repairs, qaulity in workmanship, maintains professionalism, meet job codes and ensures appropriate and detailed records for time, parts, supplies, purchases and repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Diagnoses and repairs equipment and components within the specified job code allowance
· Performs diagnostic, inspections and repairs as directed
· Utilizes web-based resources, lead technician, factory and phone calls for service-based support
· Maintains complete and detailed working records for time, parts, supplies, and repairs
· Ensures that time is accounted for on work order and notes are entered
· Helps with estimate preparation
· Tracks time and notifies shop foreman or lead technician if job code allowance is going to be exceeded
· Maintains and cares for shop tools, all Company equipment and Company vehicles
· Interacts with management and co-workers daily in a professional manner
· Ability to hookup to machines and diagnose with laptop
· Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting using a DVOM and read schematics
· Ability to perform hydraulic troubleshooting using pressure gauges/flow meters and read schematics
· Ability to perform light fabrication and welding
· Willingness to learn and continually grow
· Represents Vermeer Colorado at factory, industry and company events, including meetings and training
· Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
· Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
· Measure of success determined by established Company guidelines, including but not limited to repairs completed, time required to complete repairs, feedback from customers, ability to take guidance and direction from Manager professionally, and execute upon such feedback
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or GED, vocational training/certification preferred.
· 2 + years’ experience in the same or similar industry
· Owns and maintains personal tool inventory.
· Computer skills and Microsoft office suite knowledge.
· Previous experience in machinery or other related fields.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
· Comfortable with welding, cutting/torching.
· Ability to handle physical workload and work well with others.
· Mechanical/technical aptitude, safe work habits, a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.
· Strong current electronic diagnosing capabilities, works with minimal supervision, customer service oriented, a problem solver, reliable, ethical, able to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers and manufacturer's employees.
· Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, diagnosing and calibration a plus.
· Communicates professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times and communication is to be clear and language is to be profanity free while employee demeanor is to be calm and composed.
· Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
· Regularly exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat, moving mechanical parts and equipment, and noise level in working environment can be moderate to high.
· Background check, pre-employment drug testing (CDL Field Techs) and clean driving record required.
· Personal appearance must be neat and clean.
* This position requires a valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; Vermeer Colorado will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles while conducting company business. *
Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, 1 hour lunch break and (2) 15 min breaks
Out of State Travel:
Must be willing to travel out of state for training, up to two weeks per year

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
