The Anderson Company, LLC, a site development company for over 27 years is seeking a track loader operator for our dirt crews. The Track Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating track loaders to support site development, excavation, grading, material handling, and utility construction activities. This position works closely with foremen, superintendents, and construction crews to move materials, load trucks, maintain site productivity, and ensure projects are completed according to specifications. The Track Loader Operator is expected to perform daily equipment inspections, maintain equipment in good working condition, and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. We operate throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including Northern Virginia and Maryland.
Essential functions:
· Safely and efficiently operate track loaders to perform excavation, grading, backfilling, material handling, and site preparation tasks.
· Load trucks with soil, stone, aggregate, and other construction materials.
· Move, stockpile, and distribute materials throughout the jobsite as directed.
· Assist with grading operations to achieve project specifications and elevations.
· Perform trenching, cleanup, and site maintenance activities as required.
· Conduct daily pre-operational and post-operational inspections of equipment.
· Identify and report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
· Perform routine maintenance, fueling, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
· Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
· Maintain awareness of underground utilities, overhead hazards, and surrounding personnel while operating equipment.
· Follow directions provided by the Supervisor or Superintendent and work effectively with other crew members.
· Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 2-3 years of track loaders in a construction environment preferred.
· Knowledge of grading, excavation, and material handling techniques.
· Ability to read and understand site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications preferred.
· Strong understanding of equipment safety practices and jobsite safety requirements.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver's license preferred.
· OSHA training or applicable equipment certifications are a plus.
· Work Capacity / Physical Requirements
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and dusty environments.
· Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
· Ability to climb into and out of equipment multiple times throughout the workday.
· Ability to walk on uneven terrain and active construction sites safely.
· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform physical labor as needed.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and travel to different jobsites as required.
· Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness while operating equipment around personnel and obstacles.
· Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in a noisy construction environment.
· Ability to respond quickly to changing jobsite conditions and potential hazards.
· Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Safe and proficient operation of track loaders and related attachments.
· Understanding of grading, excavation, and material movement operations.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
