Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic

Job Overview
Seeking a skilled truck and trailer mechanic to join our team. If you like a smaller more personable company to work for this may be just what you have been looking for. We are looking for someone to provide quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as well as performing expert diagnosis and repair as required to prevent on-road breakdowns, and reduce vehicle downtime.

DUTIES:

* Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment within planned time tolerances.

* Perform all needed repairs to cab, chassis, driveline ect.

* Perform annual inspections on all fleet owned trucks & trailers.

* Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections per company methods on all trucks and trailers.

* Address all DVIR report write ups timely, and efficiently.

* Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs.

* Document all performed on work orders.

* Learn and develop efficiency in company computer programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Good knowledge of

* Heavy duty truck / diesel technical training

* High school diploma / GED

* 3 years experience in fleet maintenance and repair. ( Will accept 2 years schooling with 1 year experience)

* Current and valid drivers license.

* Annual Inspector Certification

* Brake Inspector Certification

* HVAC Certification

SKILLS:

* Must have good knowledge and experience with Cummins & Paccar engines.

* Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEM and component manufacturers.

* Must own and provide all tools to perform maintenance and repairs. (We supply major tools and diagnostic equipment)

* Expert knowledge and skill of all vehicle systems and components.

* Knowledge of all DOT / FMCSA regulations.

* Basic computer knowledge.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Requires some outdoor work.

* May include non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call.

* Noise level in the shop area is low to moderate.

* Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $45.00 per hour
