Heavy Truck and Equipment Mechanic

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Heavy trucks and equipment, including Caterpillar, John Deere and Dodge Cummins engines.
• Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues with engine performance and other mechanical systems.
• Repair and maintain air brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical components of heavy equipment.
• Fabricate parts as needed to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
• Operate heavy equipment and forklifts safely while performing repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel mechanics or related fields.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance practices.
• Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, including the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Experience working with air brake systems and hydraulics is preferred.
• Ability to fabricate parts when necessary for repairs or modifications.
• Previous experience in a dealership environment is a plus but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
