Job Summary:
The Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy trucks to transport goods, materials, or equipment to designated locations. The role requires adherence to all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies while ensuring timely delivery and proper maintenance of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy trucks (dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, or other large vehicles) safely and efficiently.
- Transport goods or equipment to assigned locations within scheduled timeframes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring items are secured and transported without damage.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip records, and fuel consumption reports.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
- Follow all company safety policies, traffic regulations, and local transportation laws.
- Assist in minor vehicle maintenance and cleanliness of the truck.
Requirements:
- Valid heavy vehicle driving license (as per local regulations).
- Proven experience as a heavy truck driver is preferred.
- Good knowledge of truck operation, safety regulations, and route navigation.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong communication skills.
- Physically fit to handle heavy loads and long hours of driving.
