Heavy Truck Driver

Job Summary

A Heavy Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating heavy vehicles to transport goods, materials, or equipment over short and long distances while adhering to traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks (such as trailers, flatbeds) for transportation of cargo.
• Load, secure, and unload materials in accordance with safety regulations and cargo specifications.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Monitor vehicle performance and report mechanical issues for maintenance.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip sheets, and shipping documents.
• Adhere to traffic laws, transport regulations, and company procedures.
• Follow assigned routes, schedules, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure compliance with weight limits, permits, and road restrictions.
• Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers professionally.
• Observe safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage.
• Assist during loading and unloading operations when required.

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid UAE heavy truck driving license.
• Proven experience operating heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of truck mechanical systems, safe driving techniques, and transport laws.
• Ability to operate GPS and routing systems.
• Good physical stamina and ability to handle manual tasks.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Work Environment & Conditions

• May involve long working hours and travel.
• Exposure to outdoor environments, noise, and heavy equipment.
• May require weekend or night shifts depending on operational needs.

Safety & Compliance

• Must comply with all road transport laws, occupational health and safety standards, and company policies.
• Participation in periodic training and safety briefings.
