Heavy Truck Driver operates large commercial vehicles to transport goods, materials, or containers safely over local routes or long distances. Duties involve conducting pre-trip vehicle inspections, securing cargo, planning the most efficient routes, and complying with all regional road safety laws.
- Vehicle Operation: Drive heavy trucks (trailers, or container trucks) safely and responsibly across assigned routes.
- Safety & Inspections: Perform mandatory pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure brakes, lights, and engines are functioning perfectly.
- Cargo Handling: Ensure cargo, containers, or materials are loaded, secured, and unloaded properly to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
- Route Navigation: Plan the most efficient delivery routes, avoiding traffic bottlenecks and keeping to designated schedules.
- Documentation & Logs: Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery documentation, and logbooks in accordance with regional transport and labor regulations.
- Basic Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure) and report major mechanical issues to the fleet manager immediately.
Essential Requirements
- Valid License: A valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (e.g., Category 4 in the UAE).
- Experience: 1 to 4 years of proven heavy truck driving experience, often with a clean driving record.
- Local Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of local roads, major highways, ports (like Jebel Ali Port), and border crossing regulations if doing cross-border trips.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to sit for long hours, withstand varied weather conditions, and occasionally lift heavy goods.
Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
