Heavy vehicle mechanic responsibilities.

1. **Inspecting and Diagnosing**: Conduct thorough inspections of heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, and construction equipment to identify mechanical issues, wear and tear, or safety concerns.

2. **Repairing and Replacing Parts**: Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, and other mechanical parts. Replace faulty or worn-out parts as needed.

3. **Preventive Maintenance**: Schedule and carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles operate efficiently and safely.

4. **Troubleshooting**: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately and efficiently resolve complex mechanical issues.

5. **Testing Vehicles**: After repairs, test vehicles to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely, making adjustments if necessary.

6. **Maintaining Records**: Keep detailed records of repairs, maintenance performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for future reference and compliance.

7. **Adhering to Safety Standards**: Follow safety procedures and standards to prevent accidents and ensure safe working environments.

8. **Technical Knowledge**: Stay updated with the latest technology, tools, and industry standards related to heavy vehicle systems.

9. **Customer Communication**: Explain repair issues and solutions to clients, providing estimates and advice on maintenance.

10. **Tool and Equipment Maintenance**: Maintain and calibrate tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
