Description:

We are excited to announce an opening for a HEDIS Specialist. The HEDIS Specialist is responsible for overseeing, planning, and implementing new and existing healthcare quality improvement initiatives and education programs. The HEDIS specialist ensures maintenance of programs for members in accordance with prescribed quality standards; they conduct data collection, reporting, and monitoring for key performance measurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review health records of IMA patients and identify prospective patients who will benefit from nutrition counseling.
  • Contact by phone each patient who is willing to work on one with a registered dietitian on health management. Registered dietitian will as asked to contact patients who are referred by a clinic provider, registered nurse, or patients who contact the registered dietitian directly to begin working together.
  • Perform nutritional counseling and make decisions about appropriate goals and action steps, including exercise and diet, for the patient.
  • Assess the patient’s progress and future needs with regard to the exercise or diet plan, and for documenting thoroughly in the Case Management database each encounter with the patient.
  • Follow any plan of care established with the patient’s primary care provider and complement it with any additional nutritional plan.
  • Facilitate presentations to patients' groups on various topics related to health and wellness.
  • A registered dietitian will work with members of the wellness team to develop educational materials and protocols based on patients ‘needs.
  • Participate in community outreach events organized by IMA, including: health fairs, sales events, and presentations etc.
  • Stay up to date on Continuing Education, state licensure, and RD Certification.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • No prior experience or training.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's Degree (MA) or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) or equivalent, or more than ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations required:
  • Computer skills required: (Select all applicable: Accounting Software; Contract Management Systems; Development Software; Human Resource Systems; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems; Project Management Software)
