Helper/Installer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Helper/Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will assist skilled tradespeople in various installation and construction tasks, ensuring projects progress smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of construction, from framing and drywall to fixture installation and finishing touches. The Helper/Installer plays a vital role in maintaining safety standards, supporting project timelines, and contributing to high-quality craftsmanship on every job site.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Support skilled tradespeople with tasks such as measuring, cutting, lifting, and moving materials using hand tools and power tools.
  • Help install fixtures, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other building components according to blueprints and schematics.
  • Participate in site inspections and quality checks to ensure adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.
  • Operate heavy equipment and machinery under supervision when required for specific tasks like concrete forming or masonry work.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to understand project requirements and assist accordingly.
  • Support demolition, restoration, or remodeling activities by preparing surfaces, applying caulking or plastering as needed, and assisting with finishing work such as flooring or tile laying.

Skills

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and basic construction equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation for accurate installation support.
  • Experience with various construction trades including carpentry (frame, trim, roofing), masonry, drywall installation (including stucco), concrete finishing, and flooring installation.
  • Familiarity with construction management principles and estimating processes is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining safety standards on busy job sites.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, fixture installation, glass installation, welding, or heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
