HGV Class 1 and 2 Drivers

Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver (Category C+E) / HGV Class 2 Driver (Category C)

Location: Longridge / Preston
Salary: Negotiable Dependant on Experience
Shift Pattern: Various Days and Nights Required.

Job Overview

Rainfords (Longridge) Limited are looking for reliable and professional Class 1 HGV Driver’s and Class 2 HGV Driver’s to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of a variety of goods across various routes, ensuring all safety standards and road regulations are strictly followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Operation: Drive articulated vehicles (up to 44 tonnes and 18 tonnes) across various runs / routes.
• Compliance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
• Documentation: Accurately maintain delivery logs, logbooks, and digital tachograph records in line with EU Drivers' Hours rules.
• Cargo Management: Ensure all loads are safely secured using appropriate techniques (e.g., strapping) to prevent damage during transit.
• Communication: Liaison effectively with the transport office and customers regarding delivery schedules or delays.

Essential Requirements

• Licence: A valid UK LGV Category C+E (Class 1) licence / HGV (Class 2) Licence
• Certification: Current Driver CPC (DCPC) Qualification Card and a Digital Tachograph Card.
• Record: No more than 6 penalty points (strictly no DD/DR/IN endorsements).
• Experience: (Minimum 6–12 months) of Class 1 / Class 2 driving experience is preferred (New Pass will be considered but would need to complete Driver Assessment prior to role being offered).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK road safety regulations and geographical routes.
