HGV Class 1 / Class 2 Driver

Job Title: Class 1 / Class 2 HGV Driver (Waste Industry)

Pay:

Monday to Friday - £16.75 per hour

Saturday - £22.10 per hour

Bank Holidays - £33.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class 1 and Class 2 HGV vehicles, including hooklift vehicles, for the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste materials.
• Execute collection routes efficiently while adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
• Operate hooklift mechanisms to load and unload containers safely and securely.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance to ensure the vehicle and hooklift equipment are in top condition.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including waste disposal guidelines and road safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service during collections, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork, such as waste transfer notes and vehicle logs.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 HGV license.
• Experience in the waste management industry is preferred, particularly in operating hooklift vehicles.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Physical ability to handle the demands of the role.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays as needed.
