HGV Class 1 Driver tramper

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flatbed lorries on long-distance journeys, primarily focusing on tramper routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced drivers to work within a dynamic environment, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods across various locations. Duties

• Operate curtain side HGV Class 1 lorries in accordance with all road safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct pre-journey safety checks on the vehicle and associated equipment
• Load and unload goods safely, ensuring correct securing of cargo, especially on flatbeds
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and tachograph records
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to legal driving hours
• Maintain communication with the logistics office regarding journey progress and any issues encountered
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times during operations
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance and reporting of any faults or damages

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial driver specialising in flatbed operations or similar roles
• Demonstrable driving experience with HGV Class 1 vehicles, particularly in long-distance or tramper routes
• Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route planning and time management
• Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards relevant to heavy goods vehicle operation
• Familiarity with loading and securing cargo on flatbed lorries is advantageous

This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safe driving practices and excellent customer service. Candidates should possess a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence, relevant experience in commercial driving, especially with flatbed vehicles, and a proactive approach to their responsibilities.
