HGV Class 1 Tanker / Container Driver Tramping

Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle containers OR tankers . The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods to designated locations.
• Plan routes with traffic planner to effectively optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption.
• Secure loads properly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations during transit, this includes using container locks when loaded.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly via the app.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
• Adhere strictly to all road safety laws and company policies during driving duties.
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring items are handled with care.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a commercial driver if possible.
• Valid driving licence & cpc suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV licence CE only).
• Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
• Ability to operate class 1 vehicles safely and securely load/unload cargo if or as required.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to plan efficient routes.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with dispatchers and clients. This role is ideal for drivers seeking a professional environment where safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are prioritised.
• Drivers will need to be 25 years or over due to insurance requirements.
• Under 2 years class 1 experience taken on with a clean licence (no endorsements).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £810.00 per week
