HGV Class 2 Driver / Hiab operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver / Hiab operator to join our team. This role involves delivering materials efficiently and safely to various construction sites and client locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials handling, and commercial driving regulations. Experience with excavators, forklifts, warehouse operations, and shipping & receiving processes will be highly advantageous. Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 lorries equipped with Hiab crane for loading and unloading materials
• Deliver goods to designated sites in a timely and professional manner, adhering to all safety regulations
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
• Assist with materials handling, including loading and unloading using Hiab crane, forklift, or manual methods as required
• Ensure all deliveries are accurately documented and signed for in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle checks, and delivery documentation
• Support warehouse operations related to shipping & receiving activities when necessary
• Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence with up-to-date CPC certification
• Proven experience operating Hiab cranes (HIAB operator certification preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles and lifting equipment
• Experience in materials handling within construction or warehouse environments
• Familiarity with excavators, forklifts, and general construction site procedures is desirable
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes and logistics management
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries efficiently
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
