HGV Class 2 Driver Operator - Dustcart

Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV 2 Releif / Cover Driver Operator to join our Waste Recycling Team. Working as a single driver operator over our Dustcart rounds covering Essex, the successful candite will initially work with the current team covering rounds in Chelmsford, Braintree, Colchester, Harlow, Southend, Brentwood etc.... Full training will be given and initial 'buddying' up for round familiarisation.

We offer a permenent Full time position with a 9 hour day, Monday to Friday with Weekend overtime available as well as single opertor completion bonuses on dustcart rounds

We operate a fleet of modern, full specification lorries with full technical backup.

Early starts preferable but no desired, earlier the start, earlier the finish

Duties

• Operate Refuse lorries and other commercial vehicles to collect waste and recycling.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately.
• Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements related to commercial driving.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with dustcart experience
• Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles
• Experience with waste vehicles and transportation is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
• Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members professionally.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and punctuality in all tasks.
• Prior experience in delivery / collection driver roles is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific operational procedures.

Pay: £43,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
