HGV Class 2 Driver - Plant

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to operate beavertail lorries within our plant operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. Duties

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries to transport materials and equipment around the plant site and to designated delivery points
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring securement of cargo during transit
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
• Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company procedures during daily operations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding schedules, deliveries, and any issues encountered during routes
• Assist with general vehicle maintenance as required to ensure optimal performance

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar lorries
• Strong understanding of driving regulations relevant to HGV operations within the UK
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently
• Good organisational skills for managing schedules and documentation
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety standards
• Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific operational requirements
